FOR THIS PROJECT, MY CONCEPT IS TO FIND THE LOST SOUNDS AND REDISCOVER TRADITIONAL CHINESE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
There are too many traditional musical instruments in China; some have similar timbres. Other instruments with similar sounds eliminate them as they develop, and some of them cannot be reproduced due to the complexity of materials and huge size. Other instruments were introduced to other Eastern countries in ancient times, such as Japan and Korea, but these instruments were lost in China.
This large-sized ancient palace instrument is now rarely used as a popular performance instrument, and most can only be seen in museums.
Bianzhong is an ancient Chinese musical instrument consisting of a set of bronze bells played melodically. China is the earliest country to manufacture and use musical chimes. They are also called Chime Bells.
I INTENDED TO HAVE THE AUDIENCE INTERACT WITH MY PAINTINGS, AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY CONTENT WAS COVERED, SO I CHOSE TO USE ARDUINO ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AND TOUCH SENSORS TO CREATE THE NEEDED EFFECTS.
I COMPLETED THE REQUIRED CODE FOR DIFFERENT PARTS ON ARDUINO AND P5 AND LINKED IT WITH THE BOARD. THE TOUCH SENSOR IS ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE CANVAS. WHEN PEOPLE PRESS THE CANVAS, THE INSTRUMENT'S SOUND CAN BE HEARD. APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE CANVAS MULTIPLE TIMES WILL RESULT IN A REPETITIVE SOUND.
