I was inspired by the relief "Death Blowing Bubbles" created by Johann Georg Leinberger between 1729 and 1731 on the ceiling of the Holy Grave Chapel in Michaelsberg Abbey in Bamberg, Germany.
This work was created while I was ill. The persistent high fever made my body suffer, and it also made me repeatedly feel the fragility of life. The bubbles represent fragile life, and the blurred threads tangle together to form the body. In the background, I splashed a lot of red paint, like a red river, where the blood flowed, leaving a warm temperature. I record these chaotic experiences in the form of paintings, even if they don’t look so perfect.
